Warm Greetings!!
It has been quite a while since this newsletter has been updated and
I apologize! Time moved faster than ever and I'm racing to keep
up!!!
Doesn't that seem to be an issue for so many of us these days? It
seems like we are racing everywhere, trying to keep on top of
things! And then there are Katrina and Rita, earthquakes and
terrorism scares, and I realize that in a moment, my every-day life
and routine could be altered drastically. Am I too comfortable, too
filled with a sense of ease and security, or of the mentality that
these disasters will "never happen to me"? I guess that by asking
these questions, the reality that we are all vulnerable is hitting
home. With all the recent devastations that have occurred here in
the US and worldwide, I am even more aware that brick and mortar,
money and full cupboards cannot be my security. They can all be
washed away in an instant. Yes, it can be scary. But I have a
choice. I can read the papers and listen to the world news and be
frozen with fear of impending disaster…or I can read the scriptures
(and the papers), listen to the world news and take spiritual
action, be on the spiritual offense in prayer, be bold in sharing
with others about our loving God and His ability to be our true
security, and be available to meet the needs of others when
possible.
While I believe there are spiritual reasons for all the world
turmoil, I am not a bible scholar, so I will leave that for
individual research!!
Be prepared in season and out of season. Be on the alert, be wise,
non-judgmental, compassionate and ready to say "Henayni"…Lord, "Here
Am I" when He calls you to whatever task He has for you! The world
needs light right now…and you ARE the light of the World! Go
SHINE!!!
