Shalom!!!

When faced with challenges...

...What do we do? How can we cope when something devastating hits us like an unexpected Tsunami? Maybe I should re-phrase that...what can I do? How can I cope? Being in the midst of a very challenging time right now, I am learning in new ways, how to hold on to the Lord for dear life. It isn’t always easy, when it looks or feels hopeless. So trust is a huge part of this, no matter what I see in the physical world around me. Trust...that God truly is in control and knows the plan…and that His plans are not for destruction, but of a hope and a future (Jer 29:11).

Letting go is another “biggie”, one I don’t do easily. I cannot “fix” my present situation, it is out of my control, so I have had to exercise the excruciating act of letting go...and it IS excruciating. But it puts me in the “no other choice but to trust the Lord” position, which seems to be just where He wants me. “Couldn’t You have shown me that in an easier way, Lord?”

The importance of community and the prayers and support of our spiritual family has been crucial for us through this challenging time. We are all part of a larger army. We always need to be ready for battle and ready to protect and encircle the wounded ones...to do battle with them...FOR them. So when things started to come apart at the seams we reached out to the prayer warriors in our congregational community for support...and they were ready at the call. Sharing our sorrows, victories, fears, ups and downs, being vulnerable...has enabled our prayer team to know how to pray and support us, and has built strong bonds as well as a strong spiritual front line. They are blessed, we are blessed and much is accomplished in the spiritual realm, even if we don’t see it all yet.

I encourage you, especially if situations are particularly challenging and rough...to remember that His plan for you is GOOD and His had will uphold you. Trust, Hope, Reach for Him, Ask for prayer and help from your friends, congregation, Rabbi, Pastor...This walk is not meant to be taken alone. Take the hands that offer help, support and hope...Someday, others will be reaching for our hands in their time of need, too.

Blessings!!!
